You are joining a cross-functional Business Intelligence Team with experts in Data Warehousing, Reporting and Marketing Analysis. As Data Engineer (m/f) you will be architecting, designing, implementing and running parts of our data environment. And as part of our data team you have the opportunity to strongly influence the way we are collecting, analyzing and using the data. We are working in a high performance production environment with self-organizing cross-functional teams.


Your tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Be the (co-) architect of our scalable lambda architecture
  • Implement data streams and processing microservices
  • Implement interfaces to producers and consumers of data
  • Support Product Managers and Marketing teams with your knowledge and implementations
  • Support implementation of our traditional, relational data warehouse

  Use-cases based and/or more future related tasks:

  • Work with Researchers on discovery projects
  • Support Analysts in defining models
  • Use external AI-services or implement future AI models
  • Make big-data toolsets available and usable for the team

What you offer us:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Informatics, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar with technical or informatics background
  • Profound experience in data streaming environments
  • (Very) good programming skills in languages like Java, Scala, Python
  • Solid experience in database modeling (relational, NoSql)
  • Knowledge of big data processing strategies like filter, map, reduce
  • Solid experience with frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, HBase, Elasticsearch, AVRO, Tensorflow
  • Know-how in implementing microservices
  • Understanding of data science techniques and models
  • Experience with virtualization and distributed cloud environments
  • Agile mindset: embrace change, proactive attitude, deliver customer value, be well-ordered in complex situations, effective communication
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
